It’s a long time, since I wanted to start writing such useful instructions for making of useful, easy and funny things from textile.
And here is the first: strawberry-brooch.
What do you need:
– Small quantity of fabric in pink-red color or pattern. You can also use purple, if you want raspberries.
– Felt or some other consistent material in green for the leaves. This material should not ravel.
– Needle and scissors. For this project you do not necessarily need a sewing machine, but having one is always an advantage.
– Safety pins for brooches
– You need small quantity of material to fill in the strawberries. I usually use the silicon material that is currently popular filling for cushions and pillows, but you can use almost everything.
First of all you need a pattern for cutting the strawberry. You can draw it yourself, as it looks like this. You need two such textile shapes for every strawberry.
Cut and sew.
Turn inside out and stuff.
Close the strawberry as shown.
Sew or attach the leaf with hot glue gun.
Attach the safety pin using needle and thread.
It becomes a great present, if you put it on a beautiful cardboard piece and add some ribbon.
